New Car Service in Carrum Downs

Vehicle & Upgrade This BMW G80 M3 arrived at Veloce Tuning in Carrum Downs for a performance-focused exhaust upgrade. With its powerful engine and performance credentials, the G80 M3 is a vehicle where the exhaust system can make a noticeable difference to the driving experience.

The customer chose an Akrapovic exhaust system as the first phase of a planned performance upgrade, with a custom ECU recalibration to follow as Phase 2. Inspection & Installation The team at Veloce Tuning, an experienced Carrum Downs mechanic for performance vehicles and tuning, inspected the vehicle and existing exhaust system before carrying out the installation.

The Akrapovic exhaust was carefully fitted as the first stage of the upgrade, with attention to correct fitment and the integration of the system with the BMW's existing setup.

This type of performance work requires more than simply replacing exhaust components. Correct installation is important for ensuring the system is securely fitted and operates as intended. Akrapovic Exhaust Installation & Next Stage With the Akrapovic exhaust installed, the BMW G80 M3 is now ready for the next stage of the customer's performance plans: a custom ECU recalibration. The aim is to complement the exhaust upgrade with tuning tailored to the vehicle and its new configuration.

The completed exhaust installation provides the foundation for the next phase while delivering the customer a more performance-focused exhaust setup.

The video accompanying this case study shows the BMW G80 M3 and the Akrapovic exhaust installation. As an independently owned Repco Authorised Service centre member, Veloce Tuning has access to quality parts, a Nationwide Warranty and experienced technicians. Engines that operate through internal combustion rely on large amounts of clean air to ensure the fuel burns properly and generates the power needed to drive the vehicle. At Veloce Tuning in Carrum Downs, we understand how vital it is to keep your car's air filter in good condition as part of protecting your engine's health. Your engine requires extremely clean air to function efficiently. Dirt, dust, and other particles entering the engine can cause serious damage. That’s where the air filter comes into play. It ensures the air entering the combustion chambers is clean, shielding key engine components such as the pistons and cylinders from wear and damage. Why Replace Your Air Filter? Save on Fuel Costs: Your engine requires the correct balance of fuel and air to run efficiently. A clogged air filter restricts airflow, causing your engine to run inefficiently – often referred to as ‘running rich.’ This not only puts additional stress on your engine but can also increase fuel consumption by up to 10%. No one likes spending more on petrol than necessary! Protect Your Engine: Over time, air filters become clogged and weaker, increasing the risk of damage. A damaged or overly dirty air filter can allow harmful particles to enter the engine, potentially leading to expensive repairs. Benefits of Replacing Your Air Filter: Extends the life of your engine Improves fuel efficiency Reduces vehicle emissions At Veloce Tuning, we always check the condition of your air filter during every full car service. Whether it’s a major or minor service, or one that follows your manufacturer’s handbook or logbook guidelines, you can trust us to keep your engine running smoothly.

Keep your engine healthy with clean air filters. Improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and extend engine life. Visit Veloce Tuning for expert maintenance and reliable car servicing.

Your car battery plays a vital role every time you turn the key or press the start button. Modern vehicles rely heavily on battery power not only for starting the engine, but also for operating electronic systems, safety features and onboard computers. At Veloce Tuning in Carrum Downs, professional battery testing, supply and installation services help local drivers avoid inconvenient breakdowns and unexpected starting problems.

As an independently owned Repco Authorised Service centre, Veloce Tuning provides reliable battery testing, diagnosis and replacement services for passenger vehicles, SUVs and 4WDs throughout Carrum Downs and surrounding areas. Why Your Car Battery Is So Important A car battery stores electrical energy and delivers the power needed to start the engine. Once the vehicle is running, the alternator recharges the battery and powers the vehicle’s electrical systems.

Modern batteries also support many electronic components, including: Engine management systems Power windows and central locking Interior and exterior lighting Infotainment systems Air conditioning controls Safety systems such as ABS and airbags Stop/start systems in newer vehicles When a battery begins to weaken, these systems may not operate correctly, especially during cold weather or short trips where the battery cannot fully recharge. How Cold Weather Affects Battery Performance Cold weather can significantly reduce battery efficiency. Even in Victoria’s milder winters, lower temperatures can impact the chemical reactions inside the battery, reducing its ability to produce power.

At the same time, engines often require more power to start during colder mornings because engine oil becomes thicker and internal components create more resistance.

This combination means weak or ageing batteries often fail during winter. Signs Your Car Battery May Be Failing Most batteries gradually deteriorate over time. In Australian conditions, many vehicle batteries begin showing signs of wear after around three years, making regular testing extremely important.

Common symptoms of battery failure include: Difficulty starting the engine Slow or sluggish cranking Battery warning light illuminated Electrical accessories behaving unusually Headlights dimming at idle Loss of radio presets or clock settings Swollen or leaking battery casing Corrosion around battery terminals If your battery is showing any of these symptoms, Veloce Tuning offers free battery testing for customer convenience. Battery Problems Are Not Always Caused by the Battery Starting problems are not always directly related to battery condition. In some cases, the real cause may be: A failing starter motor Faulty alternator Charging system issues Poor battery connections Parasitic battery drain Corroded terminals or wiring Faulty ignition components Battery Supply & Installation for Many Vehicle Types Veloce Tuning can supply and fit quality batteries for: Passenger vehicles 4WDs SUVs Family vehicles Performance vehicles The workshop can also order specialised battery types, including deep cycle batteries, subject to availability.

All supplied batteries come with a manufacturer’s warranty for added peace of mind.

Correct battery selection is important, especially for modern vehicles with advanced electronics and higher power demands. Installing the wrong battery specification can affect vehicle reliability and electrical system performance. Interesting Fact Many modern vehicles continue using battery power even when parked. Security systems, computers, remote entry systems and onboard memory functions constantly draw small amounts of electricity. Vehicles left unused for extended periods can slowly discharge the battery even when everything appears switched off. Battery FAQs Can a car battery fail suddenly without warning? Yes. While many batteries show gradual signs of weakening, some can fail unexpectedly, especially during colder weather or after periods of inactivity. Does frequent short-distance driving damage the battery? Frequent short trips may prevent the alternator from fully recharging the battery, which can shorten battery lifespan over time. Can a weak battery affect fuel economy? In some modern vehicles, unstable voltage can affect engine management systems and charging efficiency, potentially impacting performance and fuel economy. Why does my battery keep going flat after replacement? A recurring flat battery may indicate another issue such as a faulty alternator, parasitic battery drain or poor electrical connection. Is corrosion around battery terminals dangerous? Corrosion can restrict electrical flow and lead to starting problems. It should be professionally cleaned and inspected to prevent further issues. Whether your vehicle is struggling to start, showing electrical issues or simply due for a battery health check, Veloce Tuning in Carrum Downs can help.

As a trusted independently owned Repco Authorised Service centre, the workshop provides professional battery testing, battery replacement, charging system diagnosis and complete vehicle servicing for all makes and models.
