This BMW G80 M3 arrived at Veloce Tuning in Carrum Downs for a performance-focused exhaust upgrade. With its powerful engine and performance credentials, the G80 M3 is a vehicle where the exhaust system can make a noticeable difference to the driving experience.

The customer chose an Akrapovic exhaust system as the first phase of a planned performance upgrade, with a custom ECU recalibration to follow as Phase 2.

The team at Veloce Tuning, an experienced Carrum Downs mechanic for performance vehicles and tuning, inspected the vehicle and existing exhaust system before carrying out the installation.

The Akrapovic exhaust was carefully fitted as the first stage of the upgrade, with attention to correct fitment and the integration of the system with the BMW's existing setup.

This type of performance work requires more than simply replacing exhaust components. Correct installation is important for ensuring the system is securely fitted and operates as intended.

With the Akrapovic exhaust installed, the BMW G80 M3 is now ready for the next stage of the customer's performance plans: a custom ECU recalibration. The aim is to complement the exhaust upgrade with tuning tailored to the vehicle and its new configuration.

The completed exhaust installation provides the foundation for the next phase while delivering the customer a more performance-focused exhaust setup.

The video accompanying this case study shows the BMW G80 M3 and the Akrapovic exhaust installation.

BMW G80 M3 Akrapovic Exhaust: Performance Upgrade at Veloce Tuning

Maintaining your vehicle’s brakes is one of the most important parts of staying safe on Australian roads. Whether you drive a family car, work ute, or manage a fleet of vehicles, reliable braking performance is essential. Veloce Tuning in Carrum Downs, an independently owned Repco Authorised Service centre, provides comprehensive brake inspections, repairs, and maintenance to keep you stopping smoothly and confidently.

Brake Service & Maintenance: Your Safety Starts Here

A brake service focuses on inspecting, maintaining, and restoring the braking system to ensure it performs as intended. This commonly includes:

Measuring brake pad and brake shoe thickness

Inspecting brake rotors and drums for wear or warping

Checking brake fluid condition and moisture content

Flushing and replacing brake fluid as required

Inspecting brake lines, hoses, and callipers

Road-testing the vehicle for brake response and noise

A proper service helps prevent costly damage and ensures the vehicle stops safely in all conditions—especially vital on wet Victorian roads.

Most modern vehicles use a hydraulic braking system. When you press the brake pedal:

A brake booster multiplies your pedal force.

The master cylinder pushes brake fluid through lines to each wheel.

Callipers clamp brake pads onto rotors, creating friction.

This friction slows the wheels and brings the car to a stop.

For vehicles with ABS, sensors and control modules prevent wheel lock-up.

It’s a finely balanced system—when one part wears out, others often follow.

If you notice any of these symptoms, book a brake inspection promptly:

Squealing or grinding noises when braking

Vibration or pulsing through the pedal or steering wheel

Vehicle pulling to one side while braking

Ignoring these signs may result in further damage or reduced braking performance, especially dangerous during wet winters or on the busy roads around Carrum Downs.

Brake issues rarely stay isolated. Neglecting them can damage:

What Else Can Be Affected by Brake Problems?

Suspension components (due to vibration and uneven stopping forces)

Fixing small issues early helps avoid unnecessary replacement of expensive components later.

Keeping your brakes serviced provides several benefits:

Safer braking response in all traffic conditions

Reduced repair costs by preventing premature wear

Improved fuel efficiency, as dragging brakes increase resistance

Compliance for fleet vehicles with safety requirements

For business owners, properly maintained fleet brakes help reduce downtime and ensure drivers stay safe.

The Australian landscape can be tough on brakes. Drivers in and around Carrum Downs encounter:

Brake Maintenance for Local and Intersate Conditions

Higher temperatures in summer, affecting brake fluid

Steeper terrain in some surrounding areas

Avoid resting your foot on the brake pedal

Service brake fluid every 2 years or as recommended

Let brakes cool after descending long hills

Respond quickly to unusual smells or sounds

Keep tyres properly inflated for even braking

The first ABS systems were inspired by aircraft braking technology in the 1920's, designed to help planes stop safely on wet runways—technology later adapted for passenger cars.

Whether you need a brake check, new pads, a fluid flush, or repairs for your private or fleet vehicle, Veloce Tuning in Carrum Downs is here to help. As a proud Repco Authorised Service centre, you’ll receive reliable workmanship backed by nationwide professional standards.
